About Me

I’m an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Houston. My research focuses on how our moral beliefs influence our political attitudes, ranging from the policy stances we take, the character traits we seek out in politicians, to the types of rumors and misinformation we are likely to believe. I also investigate the link between public opinion and elite behavior – specifically, how elites attempt to manipulate public attitudes and perceptions through moral rhetoric. In addition to my substantive work, I am interested in best practices in survey and experimental design.
